How We Use Your Donations

We know there are many organizations you can choose to support, so we want to start off by saying THANK YOU for considering Holland Western Horse Park as one of them!

The club was first formed in 1964, and we've been able to host events every year since then thanks to our loving community and amazing sponsors!  We have a fantastic group of members and volunteers who are able to supply the manpower necessary to maintain the property and host events; however, your sponsorship and donations are truly the backbone of our organization.

Equestrian activities in general tend to be expensive endeavors, but we strive to make our events affordable so that the whole family can participate - even those that are just starting out and new to the sport.  In doing so, there are still many costs we need to cover, including but not limited to, purchasing awards, hiring judges, and maintaining our liability insurance.  Additionally, as the club owns the 40 acres of property where we host all our events, there are property related expenses such as grounds maintenance and improvements, equipment maintenance, and property taxes.

By opening up our facility to a variety of skill levels and rider disciplines we hope to be a place that all riders can come to grow their confidence and skills, while having fun and making life-long friends - regardless of the type of horse they own or their age.

In addition to hosting affordable events that cater to a variety of individuals, we also work with many local non-profits to provide them unique opportunities specific to their needs.  Recent partnerships have included offering classes for Renew Therapeutic Riding Center students at our horse shows, hosting private events to allow Mounted Police Units and their families to practice on our obstacle course, and providing discounts to local 4-H groups allowing them to host horse shows and fun-days at our facility.

All of these activities would not be possible without our sponsors!  By supporting HWHP you are not only supporting a local club, but you are supporting Holland's own equestrian community in more ways than one!

As the club is a 501(c)4 non-profit, you can also rest assured that 100% of your donation will be used to support the club, as we do not have any paid staff and any "extra" donations at the end of the year are put back into the organization to make improvements.  Improvements that have been made over the years are listed below, illustrating just how far we've been able to come since 1964!

Note, that as a small token of our appreciation, we can offer our sponsors a few benefits and would love to work with you to personalize something if you desire.

Non-Monetary Donations

In addition to monetary donations, we are also always appreciative of non-monetary donations, such as items which may be used as prizes, labor for grounds improvements/maintenance, or other materials as appropriate.  Please Contact Us to discuss if you think you can help us out!
